Robert Ader New Investigator Award, 2008

The PNIRS will hold it’s annual meeting on May 28 – 31st, 2008.  The PNIRS will present an award to a new investigator for outstanding contributions in basic or clinical research in psychoneuroimmunology. This award consists of a $500 honorarium paid from a generous gift from the Fund for Psychoneuroimmunology.  The following scholars in PNI have been honored with the Robert Ader award in the past.  We look forward to your nominations of others who you believe should join this distinguished list:

    2000 - Firdaus Dhabhar
    2001 - Annemieke Kavelaars
    2002 - Kurt Ackerman
    2003 - Lucille Capuron
    2004 - Susan Lutgendorf
    2005 - Marian Kohut
    2006 - Julienne Bower
    2007 - Susan Segerstrom

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Applicants must be within ten years of completing their formal training (e.g., Ph.D. or M.D.), based upon the year that the award is given. The complete application must be submitted as one file and should consist of: (a) A nomination letter by a Full Member of the PNIRS. (b) A complete curriculum vitae, complete with specific termination dates of degrees. (c) A statement from the nominating member, not to exceed 500 words, that highlights significant research accomplishments. The successful candidate is expected to submit a manuscript for publication in Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, the peer-reviewed, official journal of the PNIRS.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARD
The name of the successful candidate will be announced at the 2008 meeting in Madison.
