Job Description

This is a 9/12, 100%, non-tenured faculty position.  This position includes many varied tasks which can be divided into the following two categories.  Managerial duties include managing research laboratory, overseeing graduate student laboratory work, overseeing undergraduate student projects and laboratory work, ordering research equipment and supplies, and managing grant budgets. Scientific duties include experimental design development, writing animal and bio-safety protocols, laser capture micro-dissection, PCR, production of primary cell lines, animal handling/surgery, assisting in grant writing, including developing budgets and supporting materials.

Ph.D in Animal Science with 10 years postdoctoral research experience as well as 5 years managing a research laboratory.  Candidates need to have supervisory skills, to understand porcine biomedical models, be proficient in tissue culture and molecular biology as well as be skilled in organization, teamwork, and communication.
