Call for Proposals:
PNIRS 2019 Member-Sponsored Symposia

The PNIRS Program Committee requests member-sponsored proposals for two symposia at PNIRS 2019 to be held in Berlin, Germany (June 4-8, 2019).  A proposed symposium should be two hours in length, and include four speakers and a discussant.

In considering whether to submit a proposal, please keep in mind that it is the intention of the Program Committee to provide a well?balanced meeting. Although every proposal will be considered, enthusiasm for proposals that overlap will be diminished and one of the symposia will be focused on early career scientist submissions (all presenters should be at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent).

Please note that there will be a two-stage process for the proposal submission:

1.    Submit a title, a brief outline of the proposed symposium (1-2 sentences) and a list of potential speakers by September 30, 2018. Proposal outline must be sent via email to the 2018-2019 PNIRS President Dr. Deb Hodgson (deborah.hodgson@newcastle.edu.au). The proposals will be assessed by the Program Committee and successful applicants will be notified by October 15, 2018.

2.    Selected applicants will be required to submit full proposals by November 15, 2018. Applicants will be notified of the Program Committee’s final decision by December 1, 2018.

PNIRS member participants are not eligible to receive funds for travel, registration or honoraria.  However, to broaden the scope of the meeting and to encourage participation by other leaders in the field who are not active in PNIRS, the Society will waive registration for non?member participants and will allow $1,000 per non-member (a maximum of 2 per symposium) to help defray their travel costs.  Please note that the participation of all invited speakers must be confirmed before submitting a proposal.
